Stefan Constantinescu
Researcher

The objective of my research is to explore and identify information pertaining to fishing activities within the delta region as depicted on historical maps and documented in contemporaneous texts. This study primarily focuses on the cartographic representation of local inhabitants through their traditional activities. Additionally, I am examining the dynamics between the State and the local populace, particularly how the Authority has consistently marginalized local individuals across varying political regimes.

Part-time PhD student

This qualitative research aims to explore the dynamic interaction among wealth, power, and ethnicity within coastal regions, focusing on Sulina City as a case study. Drawing on historical transitions and contemporary realities, the study examines the central theme of 'money knows no ethnicity,' intending to initiate discussions on how power dynamics have evolved from Greek to Russian influences and how wealth currently transcends ethnic boundaries in holding power. Through a series of interviews, the research sheds light on the perceptions and experiences of individuals within the Sulina community, highlighting the intricate interplay of ethnicity, wealth, and power. Ultimately, this study contributes to a nuanced understanding of these dynamics in coastal regions, underscoring the significance of historical context and socio-economic factors
